What exactly facilitates letting go. How do we release the disappointment, the loss of feelings that felt so true yet are challenged suddenly when we see through a facade? What of the forms of abuse that strangle us and drown all hope? I think we sever the emotional connection by finally seeing what was always there and being estranged by the things and people that no longer serve us. A tithing of our soul no longer feels appropriate. Every year passes and we see growth and changes in ourselves, things we can no longer ignore. So, we move forward, letting go of some things and letting in others. Finding strange ways of getting through our experiences and indulging in pleasures unorthodox that our minds facilitate and our bodies obey. Dark fantasies. Risked behaviors. There are things within these songs that needed to be released but that we never wanted to see the light of day. Released then covered up. Buried. As in dead. Things we stepped away from. Purposely obscured in song. Obscured from ourselves? Let this be the start of letting go and our ushering in of phase II.
